Gently heat the jewelry to 250°F (120°C). You can gauge the temperature by placing a drop of water on the metal surface. Apply heat until the water boils off completely, then apply Firescoff Rh.
Apply Firescoff Rh at the start of the repair to protect rhodium. Spray so that a fine mist coats the entire piece. When applied correctly, Firescoff will form a uniform white powder coating instantly on contact.
Gently reheat the coated jewelry. Apply more Firescoff Rh if a reflection from the metal is still visible.
Because Firescoff Rh also performs as a flux, no other paste or liquid is required. When using paste solder, apply paste solder first, then apply Firescoff.
Remove Firescoff Rh coating after resizing or repair easily using just warm water, or an ultrasonic bath. No acid pickle is required.
Available in 3 sizes: 1 Ounce Spray Bottle (30ml): Protects approx. 50 rings. 4 Ounce Spray Bottle (120ml): Ideal for bench jewelers — enough for protecting 200+ pieces. 34 Ounce (1000ml): For multiple jewelers and production shops - also use to refill.
See also Firescoff™ Ceramic Flux for other alloys such as gold, stainless steel, copper and silver. Note: At low temperatures, or if the bottle seal is broken, ceramic crystals may form at the bottom in the bottle. This may temporarily impact pump/spray performance.
