Fretz texturing hammers are perfect for giving your pieces added depth and character. While any hammer technically can be used for texturing, this set includes seven different hammers which were specially designed to produce a range of effects in metal like raw silk and sandstone textures.  Bill Fretz drew from his experiences working with American silversmith Fred Miller (Cleveland Institute of Art) and his time learning from Hans Christiansen (RIT’s School for American Craftsmen), to create these renown tools. Fretz casts their hammer heads from 420 stainless steel and tool hardens them to 50 HRC. The handles are made from oiled hardwood shaped and weighted to balance the head perfectly.   Hammers also sold individually. Made in Vietnam.
