Lab grown diamonds are flooding the jewelry industry, and the need for a reliable tester is ever present.
Key Features:
- AI Detection & Analysis: Identifies natural and synthetic diamonds as well as simulants by measuring fluorescence and phosphorescence reactions in stones.
- Clear Results: Displays test results as color-coded icons for quick identification.
- Efficient Sorting: Icons in the tray help sort and categorize large quantities of stones.
- Detailed Reporting: Generates exportable reports with images and results.
DIASYNTH can test:
- Loose or mounted gemstones greater than 0.6 mm in diameter (0.001 carat)
- Any cut or shape gemstone
- D through K GIA scale color, (so does not work with colored diamonds)
- Any orientation
DIASYNTH is the world’s most advanced Diamond Verification Instrument for preliminary detection of Lab-Grown Diamonds and Simulants. Works using UV Induced Visible Fluorescence Photography (UVIVFP) technology. A specific light, within the ultraviolet range, is projected toward the gemstone so as to induce light reemission in the visible range of the spectrum known as Fluorescence and Phosphorescence.
DIASYNTH detects and classifies various types of Natural Diamonds (Type Ia, Ib, IIa, or IIb), both CVD and HPHT Laboratory Grown Diamonds, and a wide variety of Diamond Simulants including Cubic Zirconia (CZ), Moissanite, Glass, Spinel, Topaz. Quartz and Synthetic/Natural White Sapphire.
The detection of Synthetic Diamonds by means of UVIVFP has been used by gemologists for decades. Because of its extensive experience in the LASER and Photonic industry, at DiaTechPro (DTP) has dramatically improved the known technology for identifying laboratory grown diamonds. Besides, DTP has refined and expanded the scope of the technology for the identification of diamond simulants as well. In addition to the wider range of classifiable materials, DTP's studies have perfected the technique so to significantly improve the overall accuracy of the classification which therefore reduces the number of false-positive and false-negative results.
DIASYNTH aims to make high-accuracy gemstone analysis accessible to a wider range of users by automating the complex data interpretation process through its artificial intelligence capabilities. This reduces human error and the need for highly specialized operators. DIASYNTH does not take the place of a certified gemologist; however, it does make that person much more efficient.
Its main advantage is not just its accuracy, but its focus on interpreting results and segregating "bad" stones. Currently available machines will provide raw data which requires skilled operators to study and evaluate in order to classify the tested gems. DIASYNTH utilizes a 3-way artificial intelligence system to processes the data autonomously and will classify the gems itself, without needing human interpretation. This automated digital classification method simplifies the evaluation process and ensures repeatable, accurate results. This allows even non-specialized personnel to operate the device effectively, as the AI handles the skilled data interpretation traditionally required. However, the machine does not certify that a stone is or is not a diamond. That is done by the operator and we suggest using a thermal/electrical tester, such as our 8171097 Presidium Multi Tester - to distinguish stones which do not react to UV light (currently 2A diamonds and Moissanite).
Most of the technical solutions which make DIASYNTH so unique are protected by International Patent. The accuracy of the classification results is under approval by two independent gemological laboratories in Italy, which are testing the device with a relevant number of stones. The A.I. has been developed with the help of the University of Verona and its “data-set” is under expansion on daily basis. As of early 2024 tests have been run on approximately on 1 million gems.
The DIASYNTH unit measures 27x38x46cm (approximately 10-1/2"x15"x18") and weighs 22kilograms (approximately 49lbs). Has an internal camera and computer and while you can use the touch screen for all the commands, it also comes with a wireless mouse and keyboard. The image needs to be projected onto a wall or you can add a computer screen if that works better for your application.
