The MKR-1 Planishing Hammer can be used to stretch and shape metal against an underlying surface. The MKR-1 has two faces: one round with a slight dome to remove tool marks, the other round but flat to flatten and smooth. Both faces are mirror-polished to smooth metal surfaces without adding any unwanted texture. 

This hammer is part of Fretz’s Maker series which was designed to deliver quality hammers at a more affordable price point with handles made from American ash. Fretz casts all their hammer heads from 420 stainless steel and tool hardens them to 50 HRC. Made in Vietnam.
