Bill Fretz realized there was a need for a more accessible price point, while still providing a quality hammer. The Maker series was created to fill this need. This set of 5 covers a wide range of jewelry-making applications from planishing to raising to texturing. Working with American silversmith Fred Miller at the Cleveland Institute of Art and learning from Hans Christiansen at RIT’s School for American Craftsmen, gave Bill Fretz great insight into what demanding jewelers require in their tools. While all Fretz hammers are renowned for their quality, beauty, and comfort - they are also exceptionally made. Fretz casts their hammer heads from 420 stainless steel and tool hardens them to 50 HRC. The handles are always made from hardwood and each are shaped and weighted to balance the head perfectly. The Maker series handles are made from American ash to reduce the costs. Hammers also sold individually. Made in Vietnam.
