Use this F-2A lining stake to begin to shape concave flutes. Draw the design lines with a sharp ink marker on the hollow metal domed shape. For straight flutes use a straight hammer (consider our 8217031 HMR-2 Wide or our 8217032 HMR-3 Narrow hammers, both sold separately) with rolled edges should be used. For curved flutes, the hammer needs a curve (such as our 8217044 HMR-8 Narrow or 8217045 HMR-9 Wide, both sold seprately) face with rolled edges. Hammer on either side of the line you drew on your piece of metal in order to sink the metal and bring the line area up.
It is available both individually and in a set (8141109) so you can easily use the flute stakes in succession. After beginning the flute with this F-2A stake, you would then use the F-2B (sold separately as our 8141107) to further refine the shape, and finish with the F-2C (sold separately as our 8141108) to sharpen the high points. Fretz stakes are made from hardened 420-grade stainless steel with highly polished areas to prevent scratching or marring your workpiece. Designed for use with Fretz H-1 or VH-1 holders (any holders shown in the picture are not included but are sold separately). Made in Vietnam.
